Young Women
In Harmony

The Carolina Style Chorus is doing its part to boost the Young Women in Harmony program in the Hickory, North Carolina area.

The chorus actively supports the Young Singers Foundation and the Young Women in Harmony program in many ways. And we encourage young women to participate in chorus activities. Several of our members are students at St. Stephens High School in Hickory.

The YWIH program teaches emerging voices the skills and rewards of performing and singing four-part harmony in the barbershop style. It’s easy to get started in the program. The first Young Women In Harmony education packet contains comprehensive information for teaching young voices four-part harmony. The education packet is complimentary and includes a video tape, certificates of participation and an educator’s guide, with music selections voiced for young singers.

Several members are or have been students at St. Stephens High School in Hickory and Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville. If you’re an area educator interested in introducing the Young Women In Harmony program at your school, contact Nancy Truitt, 1-800-858-1945.
